“Alexa, play ‘Energy’ by Drake.”
Energy. You sense it, you feel it, you experience it. In science class growing up, I learned that the law of conservation of energy states that it can neither be created or destroyed, but only changed from one form to another. This is something I did not take to mean much outside of science, until I saw how valuable it was in understanding the role energy plays in life.
It gives us the strength to get through those tough days when we feel discouraged. It radiates when those around you are tapped into positivity. It repels you from negativity looking to bring your vitality down. This is all due to energy being transferable, and why you have to watch that energy!
I am currently aiming to master the art of discernment, and using that ability to be aware of the vibes I encounter. I do not want to be around low vibrational and unpleasant energy. This is not always directed towards you but still inappropriate regardless. I stand firm on not only seeing a person’s character by how they treat you, but others as well.
Some people have the habit of hiding behind false confidence and being able to see the problems everyone else has, with no true acknowledgement of their own improvement areas. I can be honest as well and say that this was something that I also did at a certain point. After facing some humbling situations and honestly reflecting on them, I put the magnifying glass on myself and had to realize that energy was not it. It was coming from a place of immaturity, insecurity, and feeling inferior. I was running away from my truths that reflected in my speech and I got tired of living in a place of discord.
This is where the shift took place. I became conscious of the energy I was unconsciously transmitting. Truly understanding how powerful the tongue is, I made the effort to change not only how I spoke, but what I spoke about. Many times I have just spoken without taking account for possible after effects once said. The energy I wanted to attract in my life is something I aimed to put out into the universe. I also started doing things that put me in a good mood, like my designated self-care day where I get my nails done, then come home and give myself a facial & pedicure. I wanted to ensure pampering was a priority in my schedule, not something I had to squeeze in time for. I am going to try doing my own manicure next. Coronavirus has me tapping into new skills and hobbies that I was playing myself by not getting into them before.
Once you have cultivated the vibes you are trying to emit, protect it. Only make room for those around you that uplift you as you uplift them. Become your own best friend. Have some attentive eyes, open ears and simply WATCH THAT ENERGY.
